
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th 1977. He was raised in the southern part of California and attended Huntington Beach High School, where he was a star player on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to be a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the team in football to the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he broke the record of the school bowl with nine receptions. Gonzalez led the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament in just a few months following. After graduating from highschool Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was chosen at number 13 overall by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. He was then transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL season, he completed more than 59 passes every season.
