
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 until January 19th, 2008) was an American theatre, film TV, and voice actress. Pleshette began her stage career, and appeared in films during the latter half of the 1950s. She was later featured in a number of notable films, including Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). She later appeared in various television shows, usually in guest roles. She also she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978. She received a number of Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 1937. Her parents were Jewish and the descendants of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was the stage manager of the Paramount Theater in Manhattan and the Paramount Theater in Brooklyn,
