Her role in the series led to her becoming a household name however she was concerned that Mary Camden's image as being a "good girl" was going to limit her capacity to perform. The Cover of Gear magazine featured her partially dressed in order to break this image. This act of Jessica caused a lot of controversy among her fans. Jessica quit 7th Heaven at the end of its sixth season. Her acclaimed performance in the role of a teenager Casey Jackson in the film Ulee's Gold brought her instant notoriety. In this film, she received the award for Best Young Supporting actress. The comedy film Summer Catch bears the proof of her brilliant acting ability. Although she delivered an impressive acting performance in the film, Rules of Attraction didn't draw much attention. Her performance in The Texas Chainshaw Massacre, a horror movie, caught the public's eye. Additionally, she's worked on suspense and thriller films.
